Bonjour Mesdames and Messieurs. That’s right you’ve got an actor blogging today so it’s going to be a little more sophisticated, like using French words…Alright, to be honest I looked it up on google. I really just wanted to break the ice, hopefully with a little humor, because I’ve got some big shoes to fill. Not only does Ronnie our Neighborhood Sound Guy have rather large black Chuck Taylors, he’s also quite a good blogger as you all very well know from reading his Blogs.
So we have made it through Day 4 of filming for “Before The Lights Come Up.” Overall we had a successful day of shooting. We had an early call, in order to take full advantage of the little bit of sunlight that we have at our disposal now that the time change has taken effect. Everyone made it here on time as scheduled, including Ronnie and Marc, who had to deal with some unpleasant traffic (especially compared to the easy flow of traffic on Veterans Day). We had an extremely full schedule for ourselves today, and I must say we handled it fairly well. Don’t worry, to be true to our daily routine, we ran into plenty of problems. We had numerous occasions where we had to stop due to an overheating camera, one occasion where we had to pause while we dumped the footage from the memory card onto the computer, and a couple of prop related situations.
Still with all of that we powered through and managed to accomplish a great deal and coming very close to getting all of the scheduled scenes. We got some great footage for some important scenes. We had a couple of very dialogue heavy scenes with the three main actors in the movie. We also were able to pick up a shot from yesterday, that we were unfortunately not able to get yesterday because we “accidentally” ate the French Bread that was a prop for lunch…and I gotta tell you Jennica really knows how to cook up a good prop.
All in all we had a good day. Everyone was very professional and lots of fun. Aaron was busy all day long making phone calls and doing office production work, Ronnie was busy getting some great sound (sometimes having to overcome Marc making it as difficult as possible for a sound guy by getting as wide of a shot as possible and then throwing a mirror into the scene so that he had to fight the reflection also), Marc was again pulling double duty with Directing and lighting (including a feat of amazement where he made a scene look like a daytime scene with the use of two small lights), and all of the actors were on top of their game. And on top of all that we had lots of fun, making each other laugh and making up songs throughout the day.
And with that I bid you Adieu.
Don’t worry followers of the blog. I’m sure that Ronnie will be back soon, but until then I hope that you enjoyed a little change.
-Ryan
